Background
John is a non-executive director and chief executive with deep experience in the fire sector, corporate leadership and governance. He served as CEO of Fire Protection Association Australia (FPA Australia) from 2023 to 2026, leading Australia's peak national body for fire safety across advocacy, accreditation, regulated training, technical services and member engagement. Concurrently he served as a Board Member of the Fire Protection Industry Board and as a Non-Executive Director of the Australian Construction Industry Forum. Prior to FPA Australia, John was Group General Manager – Industrial Services at Airmaster, where he led the organisation's fire protection and HVAC maintenance division. His fire-sector experience includes integrating three acquired fire businesses into a single operating platform and then leading the further integration of that combined entity into a broader industrial services vertical. His corporate experience also includes mergers and acquisitions work at CSR. He holds a Master of Science in Organisational Leadership from Northeastern University in Boston and a Master of Commerce from Swinburne University.
